Ok so what happens when their home computer gets infected with the dreaded “Give me all your money or you will never see your files again” virus? Your network anti virus will hopefully stop anything terrible happening, but only if its working and up to date – better not to be in that position in the first place. They are connecting to your network right? They probably have a VPN setup and using remote desktop onto a remote server or desktop computer. Where that is not possible there should be a procedure in place to get that data into one of those places ASAP.Īre your home workers using machines with valid anti virus? People should be saving to the server or your company one drive. ![]() save to the server when you get back in the office and delete from your local machine? The last thing you need are your kids logging onto the computer to play games and finding all the payroll info on your current employees! If you have people working from home or on laptops off site, have you given them instructions on what to so with their work? i.e. If they are then it won’t be getting backed up and if their computer goes pop they will lose it all. Nobody should be saving their work just to their local computer.
